Southern California Regional Disparity Study

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) is conducting a disparity study of its contracting in Southern California.  The study includes experiences of vendors and contractors and whether or not there is evidence of discrimination based on race, gender or ethnicity in the transportation contracting industry.  Metro will review this information as it considers future implementation of the Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program on Federal Transit Administration funded contracts.

The following Southern California agencies also participated in the study:
the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA or “Metrolink”) the San Diego Metropolitan Transportation System (MTS), and the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG).

Please note that the Metro draft study report and other individual agency reports will be available on the respective agency websites for public comment on or before September 25, 2009.
