Board Policy Summaries

Publication of Metro Board policy summaries is part of a larger effort to make research at Metro easier. By systematically cataloging and disseminating important documents, policy makers and executives can make timely choices based on accurate information.

Every summary is accompanied by a brief historical perspective, which places each policy in the context of previous practices and policies adopted by the Metro Board or its predecessors, the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission and the Southern California Rapid Transit District. With this history comes the understanding of how we got here and why we chose this path.

Metro Board Adopted Policies are summarized with links to the full text documentation.

Metro Administrative Code

The purpose of the Administrative Code is to articulate the duties of Metro's Board and officers and the methods, systems and procedures for the agency's operation as required by Public Utilities Code. Since its inception in 1993, Metro has approved several ordinances, policies and resolutions. There are also several ordinances adopted by the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission and Southern California Rapid Transit District that govern Metro's operations. Linked below is the full text of the consolidated Administrative Code, last amended in 2005.
