Broadway Bus Priority Lanes
Improving peak-hour travel with bus lanes that boost speed and reliability.
Metro has a plan to make it easier to get around LA. Bus service is the backbone of public transit, which is why the NextGen Bus Plan reimagined the bus system to focus on providing fast, frequent, reliable, and accessible service. Bus priority lanes are key to successfully implementing this plan. These lanes would improve bus speeds by as much as 15% or more, increasing service frequency and reliability, as well as enhancing mobility by moving more people without adding more infrastructure.
Status Update
The Broadway Bus Priority Lanes will add full-time bus priority lanes along a 4-mile segment of Broadway, from Cesar Chavez Av to Martin Luther King Jr Bl, for Metro Line 45. Bus stop enhancements will also be made at up to 11 bus stop locations. Enhancements, including bus shelters, sidewalk repair, ADA curb ramps, pedestrian lighting, street trees, and wayfinding. The project also includes upgrades to the transit signal priority system on Broadway to improve bus speed and reliability.
