PTSC Benefits

• Medical/Dental/Vision Plan - Employees have the choice of 3 separate medical plans and 3 dental plans. A separate vision plan is included in each medical plan. The employee pays no more than 10% of the cost of these insurances.

  Vision – Provided with each health care plan.

• Retirement/Pension Plan – PTSC fully funds employee’s retirement plan, which is the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). PTSC also pays employee’s contribution of 7% of base pay, and there is no out-of-pocket cost for the plan. If employee leaves the PTSC prior to retirement, this “employee contribution” may be cashed out. Vesting is 5 years. Minimum retirement age is 50, based on the PERS 2% at 60 formula.
  
  
• PTSC employees do not pay into Social Security for Old Age and Surviviors Disability Insurance – Therefore, employee gains approximately 6.2% of take-home pay (from base salary).
  
  
• 401 (k) Thrift Savings and 457 Deferred Compensation Plans available - PTSC employees may enroll in both; plans are administered by the ICMA.
  
  
• Time off with Pay (TOWP) - Compensates employees who are on approved absence from work for reasons such as illness, injury, medical and dental appointments, personal business, vacation, or observance of (a) religious holiday.

  When an employee leaves the PTSC, they can cash out their TOWP at 100%.

• Holidays - 8 days a year: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day (plus Veterans' Day and the day after Thanksgiving for Non-Represented employees).
  
  
• Group Life Insurance - PTSC pays for an amount equal to employee’s annual salary, rounded up to the nearest $1,000. Minimum amount of life insurance is $30,000. Employees may buy up at 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x annual salary.
  
  
• Spouse and Children Life Insurance – Available at employee’s cost.
  
  
• Non-Tobacco Users Life Insurance – PTSC provides $5,000 coverage to all non-tobacco users.
  
  
• Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance - PTSC provides $50,000 coverage for each employee. Additional voluntary coverage in amounts up to a maximum of 10x annual pay up to $500,000 is available at favorable premium rates. Family coverage also available.
  
  
• Long-Term Disability Insurance - 100% employer-paid. Provides employees with a minimum income of 60% of earnings after six months of disability. Buy up or buy down options available.
  
  
• Transportation Passes - Employees and/or eligible dependents ride free on any Metro owned buses and trains.
  
  
• Transportation Subsidy - Maximum of $110 monthly subsidy towards non-Metro operated forms of public transportation or vanpools.
  
  
• Tuition reimbursement - Up to $250/undergraduate unit and $375/graduate unit for Non-Contract employee; $1,755/year for AFSCME employees.
  
  
• Child Care Center - Located on premises of Metro’s main headquarters at a reasonable cost.
  
  
• Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Available free to PTSC employees.
