Forensic Computer Administrator
Grade L: $64,961- $81,185- $97,409

This job bulletin is posted to establish or add to a Qualified Candidate Pool (QCP).
Position
Performs
complex design, installation, upgrade, maintenance, monitoring, and security of
the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) network, servers, and software
products; perform computer forensics for audits and investigations; provides
expertise for all technical, planning, operational, and security matters
concerning the OIG’s network; including servers,
workstations, network cabling, and network hardware and software and related
peripherals; monitors network servers and computers, diagnoses degradation in
performance of the network, and performs appropriate and timely upgrades,
repairs, or modifications of the system; provides back-up processes based on
state-of-the-art technologies; tests, debugs, documents, and installs programs
and systems; consults with users in specified applications areas to determine
information systems needs and possibilities; maintains and supports various
information systems; performs complex analysis and design of computer systems
using information engineering techniques; develops technical and programmatic
security assessments; performs forensic audit and investigations of security
violations, attempts to gain unauthorized access to OIG information, virus
infections that may affect OIG network or other incidents affecting OIG
security; presents investigative findings both orally and in writing for
determination of the prospective merits of the case; ensures that digital
forensic methodologies are consistent in order to preserve and protect evidence
and satisfy audit standards; and performs other related duties.
Requirements for Employment
Potential candidates interested in this position MUST meet the
following requirements: a Bachelor's
Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and five
years’ experience in the maintenance of computer systems, including at least
one year senior-level experience in managing a network environment and one year
senior-level experience in computer forensics; certifications desirable in
Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); Server 2003; Microsoft Database
Administrator (MCDBA); Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP); Structured
Query Language (SQL) 2005; Certified Cisco Network Associate (CCNA); and a
Forensic Certification or Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC).
Experience as outlined may be substituted for education on a year-for-year
basis.
Must have a satisfactory job performance
record as verified by reference check prior to the offer of employment.
Knowledge: Theories, principles, and practices of
information systems management and specified application areas; computer
forensics principles and applications; Microsoft applications and operating
systems; structured Query Language (SQL); applicable local, state, and federal
laws, rules, and regulations governing information systems for a public agency.
Abilities: Analyze complex
information and network security plans and processes; perform proactive
capacity planning in the server environment; lead network-centric project
implementation; interact professionally with various levels of OIG and Metro
employees and outside representatives;
