New Shuttle Links Metro Red Line with Hollywood Bowl -- And It’s Free to Metro Riders• Online: At the Hollywood Bowl As anyone who has ever parked at the Hollywood Bowl knows, the simple act of driving there can seriously impede concert enjoyment. In short, getting out of that stacked parking place after the concert can make you cranky. But this year Metro and the Hollywood Bowl have joined forces to make getting there even easier. A new Hollywood Bowl shuttle from the Hollywood/Highland Metro Red Line station now departs every 15 minutes, beginning about 2 1/2 hours before performances until show time. And it’s free to Metro riders showing valid passes and tickets. Catch the shuttle on Orange Drive, just one block west of the Hollywood/Highland station between Hollywood Boulevard and Franklin Avenue. Passengers will be dropped off near the Bowl box office. To return, board at the Bowl bus loading area. Shuttles return to the Orange Drive stop for 30 minutes after the show concludes. For more information on the shuttle and the Hollywood Bowl programs, call 323-850-2000, or visit www.hollywoodbowl.com. To plan the best route to the Hollywood/Highland station, call 1-800-COMMUTE, or use the Trip Planner at www.metro.net. And while you’re on the Trip Planner, check out the new feature that figures out how much money you’ve saved by traveling Metro and leaving the car at home. You’ll find the driving cost on the results page, with the schedule. Add money saved to traffic aggravation saved and it’s a fitting finale for a wonderful Hollywood Bowl evening. Metro-115
