      FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Metro Invites Residents of First/Vignes Streets to a Community Meeting Concerning Construction Activities for the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension

Metro will hold a community meeting Monday, July 24 to update Litle Tokyo/Arts District residents about upcoming construction activities of the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension in the vicinity of First and Vignes streets.

The meeting, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., will take place in the 3rd floor boardroom, Metro headquarter’s building, located at One Gateway Plaza, in downtown Los Angeles. Metro will provide parking validations for the public. For those using public transit, the Dash “D” shuttle bus is the best way to go.

The Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension will be open to the public in late 2009 and will serve the Little Tokyo/Arts District, Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles with eight new train stations, two of them underground, and a total of six more miles of the Metro Rail System.

For information on Eastside construction activity, call Metro Community Relations at (213) 922-9560.
