      FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Metro to Detour Various Metro Bus Lines During 7th Annual Los Angeles Triathlon on Sunday, Sept. 10

Various Metro Bus Lines will experience delays and will be detoured in the downtown Los Angeles, Echo Park, Hollywood, Fairfax, West Los Angeles and Venice areas due to the running of the 7th annual LA Triathlon on Sunday, Sept. 10.

The City of Los Angeles will host the 7th Annual LA Triathlon and several thousand swimmers, bike riders and runners are expected to take part in the event.

Because the 31-mile course runs throughout the city, many Metro Bus lines will experience service delays. Metro will post signs at the bus stops impacted by the race directing passengers to the nearest boarding locations. Buses will be detoured between 6 a.m. and 12 noon. Cumulative service delays may be experienced throughout Metro’s service area.

All Metro Rail trains will run as scheduled without interruption. Passengers are encouraged to take Metro Rail when possible to avoid delays resulting from the Triathlon.

Those Metro Bus lines affected by the Triathlon are: 2, 4, 10, 11, 14, 16, 18, 20, 26, 28, 30, 31, 33, 37, 38, 40, 42, 48, 51, 52, 53, 55, 60, 62, 66, 71, 90, 91, 92, 94, 105, 156, 163, 180, 181, 200, 201, 204, 206, 207, 210, 212, 217, 304, 305, 439, 444, 445, 446, 447, 460, 484, 485, 487, 534, 550, 603, 720, and 754

Metro service delay brochures are available on board Metro buses. For more information and specific route and schedule information patrons can call 1-800-C-O-M-M-U-T-E or visit www.metro.net.
