FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Go Metro to the Pasadena Lunar New Year Parade and Festival Feb. 18

In Pasadena, the 2007 LA18 Lunar New Year Parade and Festival on Sunday, Feb. 18 will be a celebration of Asian art and personalities. Let Metro take you there via the Gold Line and enjoy the day, without having to worry about traffic. Take the Gold Line to the Del Mar station or the Memorial Park station. It’s only a short walk to the heart of the parade and the festival.

The Pasadena events will contain all the elements of a traditional Lunar New Year celebration but with a modern musical twist. Hip-hop artist apl.de.ap, a member of the Grammy Award-winning group The Black Eyed Peas; Chinese-American hip-hop artist Jin and the Los Angeles Asian-American group Far*east Movement will be among the attractions at the Pasadena 6th Annual Lunar LA 18 New Year Parade and Festival. Performer apl.de.ap, who was born in the Philippines, will be grand marshal of the parade.

Marching bands, floats and lion dancers will parade down Colorado Boulevard in Old Pasadena, between Pasadena and Raymond avenues, at 10 a.m. The Parade will be followed by the Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Central Park, 275 Raymond Ave. The festival will include exotic foods, entertainment, kids and cultural activities and shopping at food and vendor booths.
