Los Angeles County Metropolitan Authority (Metro) Closing 119th Street Blue Line Grade Crossing Beginning Friday, July 20 Through Sunday, July 22 for Restoration Work

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will be closing the 119th Street Blue Line grade crossing beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, July 20, and continuing through Sunday, July 22 for restoration of the roadbed. Rail service in both directions will be interrupted between Compton and Imperial/Wilmington stations beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and continuing through Sunday, July 22. Buses will be used to transport passengers around the closure. Metro patrons should allow a minimum of 30 minutes additional time and anticipate some delays.

On Friday, July 20, the last northbound train continuing through to Los Angeles prior to the service interruption will leave the Long Beach Transit mall at 8:21 p.m. The last southbound train continuing through to Long Beach will leave from the 7th Street/Metro Center at 8:26 p.m., after 9 p.m. buses will be used to provide service between the Compton and Imperial/Wilmington stations.

On Saturday, July 21, trains will operate every 15 minutes in the morning, every 12 minutes mid-day and 20 minutes in the evening. Buses will continue to provide service between the Compton and Imperial/Wilmington stations.

On Sunday, July 22, only one track between Compton and Imperial/Wilmington stations will be in service. All trains will be operating every 20 minutes, beginning southbound from 7th Street/Metro Center at 5:05 a.m. and northbound from the Long Beach Transit mall at 5:03 a.m. The last train southbound from 7th/Metro Center will leave at 12:45 a.m. and northbound from the Long Beach Transit mall at 11: 23 p.m. (to Los Angeles). The last train northbound to Wardlow from the transit mall will leave at 1:41 a.m. Regular Blue Line service will resume on Monday, July 23.
