      FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Three Southern California Leaders Singled Out for Outstanding Contributions to Regional Mobility at Sixth Annual Mobility 21 Transportation Summit

(Nov. 5, 2007) Eric Haley, Executive Director of the Riverside Transportation Commission; Curt Pringle, Mayor of the City of Anaheim, and Larry Sharp, Chairman of the Inland Empire Transportation Coalition, were presented today with awards for improving mobility through vision and leadership in their various regions.

The awards were given at the Mobility 21 Sixth Annual Southern California Transportation Summit, a conference that draws together elected officials, transportation providers and business, labor and community leaders dedicated to solving Southern California mobility challenges.

Eric Haley received the 2007 Mobility 21 Lifetime Achievement Award for his 34-year public service career, which has yielded transportation improvements throughout Southern California. Haley has served as Executive Director of the Riverside County Transportation Commission since 1998 and through his leadership Riverside County has seen an 11-mile widening of State Route 74; expanded Metrolink service; HOV lanes on State Route 60 and reconstruction of the 215/91/60 Interchange, among other projects.

Fran Inman of Majestic Realty, winner of the Mobility 21 Award from 2006, presented two awards for 2007 – one to an elected official and the other to an individual in the private sector.

Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle -- winner of one of the two 2007 Mobility 21 Transportation Awards -- lead efforts that resulted in passage of Orange County's Measure M, the half-cent sales tax for transportation that will provide more than $12 billion in locally controlled transportation funds for Orange County over the next 30 years. Mayor Pringle also represents Southern California on the High Speed Rail Commission and is leading the way in development of a public-private multi-modal transportation center that will link Anaheim to Ontario Airport.

Larry Sharp, the other 2007 Mobility 21 Transportation Award recipient, is founding member of the Inland Empire Transportation Coalition, a non-profit organization that brings together private sector partners to advocate on behalf of the region and to help solve transportation and mobility concerns in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Sharp was co-chair of the Measure I Renewal Committee for the extension of Measure I, the half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements in San Bernardino County. He is chair of the Inland Empire Economic Partnership, which recently named transportation its number one priority. He also chairs the Transportation Committee of Inland Action, Inc. Professionally, Sharp is President/Chief Executive Officer of Arrowhead Credit Union.

The Mobility 21 awards honor individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the transportation community and/or have brought together various stakeholders to advance mobility in Southern California.
