      FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Metro Blue Line Train Service to be Delayed Nov. 16-18 Due to Needed Track Repairs

• Metro Rail Service Advisory: Patrons advised to allow extra travel time and expect delays

Work crews will be repairing a grade crossing between Imperial/Wilmington and Compton Metro Blue Line Stations Friday evening, Nov. 16 through Sunday, Nov. 18. The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) advises all Metro Blue Line patrons to allow themselves extra travel time and expect delays to train service during this period.

Friday, Nov. 16: From 9 p.m. Friday evening to the close of service Saturday night, Nov. 17, northbound and southbound Metro Blue Line train service between Imperial/Wilmington and Compton Stations only will be taken out of service. Metro will instead operate buses to transport passengers around this closure. Transit patrons should allow a minimum of 30 minutes additional travel time and expect delays.

All northbound (Long Beach to Los Angeles) passengers will disembark trains at Compton Station and board buses at the bus stop on Willowbrook Avenue. Buses will travel to Imperial/Wilmington Station within approximately 12-15 minutes.

All southbound (Los Angeles to Long Beach) passengers will disembark trains at Imperial/Wilmington Station and board buses on the west side of the station at Metro Bus Line 120-121 stops. Buses will travel to Compton Station within approximately 8-10 minutes.

The last northbound train prior to service disruption on Friday evening will leave Transit Mall Station at 8:21 p.m., arriving at Imperial/Wilmington Station at 8:50 p.m. The last southbound train prior to service disruption will leave 7th St./Metro Center Station at 8:26 p.m and arrive at Compton Station at 8:52 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 17: Trains will operate every 15 minutes in the morning, 12 minutes mid-day and 20 minutes in the evening. Buses will continue to provide service between Compton and Imperial/Wilmington Metro Blue Line Stations.

Sunday, November 18: All trains will operate every 20 minutes, beginning southbound from 7th St./Metro Center Station at 5:05 a.m. and northbound from Transit Mall Station at 5:03 a.m. The last train southbound from 7th St./Metro Center Station will depart at 12:45 a.m. and northbound from Transit Mall Station at 11:23 a.m. to Los Angeles. The last train north to Wardlow from Transit Mall Station will leave at 1:41 a.m.

Metro realizes the inconvenience all Metro Blue Line customers will face during this period. We ask for your patience and understanding.
