FANS CAN ENJOY METS/YANKEES “SUBWAY SERIES”
BY TAKING L.A.’S SUBWAY: THE METRO RED LINE
Metro
Red Line passengers will able to enjoy “The Subway Series” without having to
travel 2,000 miles to the Big Apple.
Don’t be surprised if during the upcoming World Series between the New York Yankees and New York
Mets loyal baseball fans begin arriving at the MTA’s Metro Red Line subway station at Universal City dressed in
their favorite teams’ uniform.
The
Metro fans will be destined for Universal Studios’ CityWalk which, during the
World Series, has been dubbed New York CityWalk and will continue to be called
that until the series concludes.
Through
at least next Thursday, October 26, or Game Four of the World Series, games will
be broadcast live on a giant 16-foot by 22-foot Astrovision near the New York
CityWalk cineplex. Authentic New York-style food will be served, visitors will
have an opportunity to win New York CityWalk prizes, and purchase New York
Yankee and Mets merchandise, and there will be other various activities.
“The
Subway Series” at New York CityWalk is being sponsored by Universal CityWalk
and the New York Alumni Association.
Metro
Rail passengers can exit at the Universal City Station and ride Universal’s
free shuttle to New York CityWalk. For more Metro Rail information, call
1-800-COMMUTE.
Rides
on Metro Rail, including the Metro Red Line subway, and MTA Buses will be free
through this Sunday, October 22.
