Attending Re-Opening Festivities for Watts Towers Made
More Convenient by MTA and Staples Center

Free public parking at Staples Center, Lot 5, is being offered to those who would like to take the Metro Blue Line from the Pico Station, a short walk from the sports/entertainment complex, to a lighting ceremony marking the grand opening of Watts Towers, Friday, September 28.

Metro Blue Line passengers disembark at the 103rd Street/Kenneth Hahn Station, a 17-minute trip, and walk south two blocks to Watts Towers, a historical monument consisting of nine major sculptures closed since Northridge Earthquake. The Towers are located at 1727 East 107th St.

The grand opening event, 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m,. will feature entertainment, a community cake-cutting and addresses from dignitaries. Parking at Staples Center will be available from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

Two other events, the Day of the Drum Festival and Watts Towers Jazz Festival are being held on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30, however free parking is only available at Staples Center on September 29, 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
