MTA Contracted Bus Lines to Become Operational on Tuesday, Nov. 4

Beginning
Tuesday, Nov. 4, First Transit Inc., under contract to MTA, will begin operating
12 bus lines that have been sidelined due to a separate labor dispute between
First Transit Inc. and its drivers.
The 12 additional bus lines
will help increase "Lifeline" transit service that is being provided by
private operators in light of the mechanics strike against the MTA.
On Tuesday, First Transit Inc. will operate the following bus lines:

(Pacific Coast Highway)

(Willowbrook/Huntington Park/Lorena Street),

(Eastern Ave./Avenue 64/North Hill Ave./Commerce to Altadena)
Line 266
(Lakewood/Rosemead Boulevards), and
Line 270
(Monrovia/El Monte/Norwalk).

Riders also can find carpools
and vanpools near their homes or workplaces by clicking on the "Ridesharing"
link on MTA's Internet home page or by going directly to www.ridematch.info.

Metrolink or bike commuting.
