Cable's "L.A. In A Day
Via Metro" Explores Attractions Along Metro Red Line Subway
(Los Angeles) - Chances are
you've gone to the Hollywood Bowl for a concert at least once in your life.
You've also probably put your hands in many of the celebrity handprints that
grace the cement courtyard of Mann's Chinese Theatre. Did you know that these
are just two of the attractions easily accessible via the 17.4-mile Metro Red
Line subway?
MTA's "L.A. In A Day
Via Metro Red Line," which airs on Channel 36 in Los Angeles beginning
tomorrow, Dec. 18, will take you on a guided tour of these and many other of
L.A.'s most popular and interesting destinations, all within walking distance
of the Metro Red Line.
Sure, it's entertaining to
watch "L.A. In A Day Via Metro Red Line" hosts Jeff Cole and Heather
Hopper romp around L.A., eating, shopping and taking in the sights. But Jeff and
Heather point out it's a lot more fun to experience L.A. yourself, and the
Metro Red Line is one of the best tickets in town.
Among the destinations
"L.A. In A Day Via Metro Red Line" explores are the Hollywood &
Highland retail and entertainment complex, which includes the Kodak Theatre, at
Hollywood/Highland Station; Grand Central Market at Pershing Square Station;
Universal CityWalk at Universal City Station; and Olvera Street at Union
Station.
Of course, the Metro Red Line
doesn't operate in a vacuum. The show points out that the line is part of the
Metro Bus and Rail System. Future shows will explore attractions along the Metro
Blue and Gold lines.
"L.A. In A Day Via Metro
Red Line" will air on Channel 36 in the City of Los Angeles on Thursday,
Dec. 18 at 11:30 a.m., 9:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., and on Saturday, Dec. 20 at
6:30 p.m. The show will also be made available to the three dozen other cable
stations throughout Los Angeles County.
The "L.A. In A Day Via
Metro" series is a joint production of MTA and Channel 36, which is owned
by the City of Los Angeles.
