Yvonne Brewer-Smith

Brewer-Smith Named New West Hollywood Metro Transportation Manager

Yvonne Brewer-Smith, a 28-year Metro veteran, has been named the new transportation manager at the West Hollywood Metro Bus Operating Division.

"Yvonne has come up through the ranks of the organization, developing her management skills and leadership skills in each position she has held at Metro," said Metro Westside/Central Service Sector General Manager David Armijo. "I'm pleased to appoint her to this important position to lead one of Metro's biggest and busiest transportation divisions."

Brewer-Smith currently serves as assistant transportation manager for the Metro San Gabriel Valley Service Sector, where she heads the vehicle operations program for the agency.

As head of the vehicle operations group in the San Gabriel Valley, she is credited with helping to improve Metro Bus on-time performance. She will move to her new position at Metro's West Hollywood Division later this month.

"I'm very excited about this new opportunity at Metro and look forward to helping to deliver the best transit service to our customers in one of the region's busiest areas," said Metro's new West Hollywood Division Manager Brewer-Smith.

Brewer-Smith began her Metro career as a bus operator in 1976 and has been assigned to various Metro Bus operating divisions throughout the region including divisions in Cypress Park, South Los Angeles, downtown Los Angeles and Sun Valley.

She became an assistant transportation manager of Metro's downtown Los Angeles division in 2001 and was named the Metro San Gabriel Valley Service Sector's assistant transportation manager in 2003.

A resident of Ontario in the Inland Empire, Brewer-Smith earned a degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. She has a daughter and three grandchildren who reside in Pomona.
