FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Metro
to Install Drainage System Saturday at Metro Orange Line Intersection
Metro
contractors will excavate trenches and install new drainage pipes on the west
side of the intersection of Hazeltine Avenue and Bessemer Street in the San
Fernando Valley on Saturday, October 30, 2004 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The work is part of construction
of the Metro Orange Line, a 14-mile transitway that is due to begin service from
Warner Center to the Metro Red Line North Hollywood Station in 2005.
The work will be conducted in
phases so that at least one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction
at all times, although motorists may encounter some traffic delays.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
To support this work, lane
closures and parking restrictions can be expected on Hazeltine Avenue and
Bessemer Street in the immediate vicinity of the intersection.
Traffic control equipment, including signage and flashing arrow boards,
will guide motorists around the construction.
