Metro's
Citizens' Advisory Council to Meet Wednesday, Oct 26 Metro's Citizen'
Advisory Council (CAC) will hold their regular monthly general assembly
meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 26 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Metro's
Headquarters Building in the Gateway Plaza Room located on the third
floor. Appointed by the Metro Board of Directors, CAC members serve three-year terms and may serve multiple terms on the council. The CAC was designed to reflect a broad spectrum of interest and all geographic areas of the county, and is comprised of members of the public who are interested in improving transit. The CAC meetings are
normally held on the fourth Wednesday of the month and are always open
to the public. In addition, the council holds monthly executive
committee meetings on the first Friday of the month and forwards
recommendations on various transit issues to the Metro Board of
Directors for review. The CAC was
established with the passage of California AB 152 that merged the Los
Angeles County Transportation Commission with the Southern California
Rapid Transit District and created the Los Angeles County Metropolitan
Transportation Authority (Metro). Each member of the Metro Board of
Directors can nominate up to four public members to the CAC. The CAC consults,
obtains and collects public input on matters of interest and concern to
the community and communicates recommendations to the Metro Board of
Directors. The Metro Board also can assign issues to the CAC for its
review, comments and recommendations. Agendas are posted
online at www.metro.net or people
can call (213) 922-2338 if they are interested in attending the meeting
and to receive updates on changes in time and locations of monthly CAC
meetings. Metro-153 |
