Metro
to Close Down Elevators, Offers Alternative Bus Service at USC Medical
Center Bus Station Beginning Nov. 7 Metro
plans to close elevators at the USC Medical Center Bus Terminal Monday,
Nov. 7 for one month for station refurbishments. Elevator service will
shut down at 6 a.m. Monday morning and will resume on December 8, 2005. Patrons
who normally use these station elevators and can’t or would prefer not
to use the stairs are advised to utilize alternative bus lines including
Metro Bus Lines 70 and 71 to County/USC, and Metro Bus Line 71 to Cal
State L.A. Both lines
operate from downtown L.A. via Spring Street, Cesar Chavez, Mission and
Marengo to the hospital. The
elevators at the Cal State LA Station are scheduled to be out of service
as part of the refurbishment project from December 12 through
approximately February 3, 2006. For
