Public Urged to Use County Parking Lots and Ride Metro Trains into Pasadena for Rose Bowl Football Game
December 30 - Rose Bowl football game organizers are urging the public to consider alternatives to parking in Pasadena for this year’s college football game due to a shortage of auxiliary parking caused by recent rains. Fans are encouraged to seek parking in other lots around Metro Gold Line stations and ride the train into Old Pasadena, where shuttles will take them directly from the Parsons Building to the Rose Bowl gates.
Metro to Provide Shuttle Service to Santa Anita Park for 2005 Horse Racing Season
December 29 - Horse racing fans can ride Metro to attend horse racing events at Santa Anita Park beginning January 1. Metro will operate five round-trip shuttles to and from the Metro Gold Line Sierra Madre Villa Station on race days during the 2005 horse racing season. Español

Metro to Install Drainage System Saturday at Metro Orange Line Intersection
October 29 - Metro contractors will excavate trenches and install new drainage pipes on the west side of the intersection of Hazeltine Avenue and Bessemer Street in the San Fernando Valley on Saturday, October 30, 2004 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The work is part of construction of the Metro Orange Line, a 14-mile transitway that is due to begin service from Warner Center to the Metro Red Line North Hollywood Station in 2005. Metro Red Line Wilshire/Vermont Station Entrance Closed and Relocated During Retail Construction Work
September 15 - The main entrance has been relocated to Wilshire and Shatto Place because of on-site construction work. New elevators have been installed at the temporary entrance and signs have been posted advising patrons of the closure and where to access the station. The closure of the main entrance is expected to last approximately 19 months. Español

August 27 – Metro will ask the City of Los Angeles to make a one-mile dedicated buses-only lane on Wilshire Boulevard in West Los Angeles a permanent improvement. A staff recommendation approved yesterday by the Metro Board of Directors also calls for the evaluation of additional segments of Wilshire Boulevard and other Metro Rapid bus corridors that have potential for dedicated peak period transit lanes. August 26 – Metro Chief Executive Officer Roger Snoble today ordered Shimmick/Obayashi, the contractor for the Metro Orange Line transitway project, to resume construction immediately. Snoble’s action followed notification from the Court of Appeal late Wednesday that it would not issue any further rulings on an earlier appeal by Metro, thereby lifting a stay on construction it imposed on Aug. 2. The new buses, manufactured by North American Bus Industries, are five feet longer than a traditional 40-foot transit bus and have a sleeker design manufactured with special composite materials.
