Go Metro to Southwest Museum Store, Receive Free Gift

Go Metro to experience culture and history at The Southwest Museum in Mt. Washington. The Southwest Museum holds one of the nation’s most important museum, library, and archive collections related to the American Indian. It has extensive holdings of pre-Hispanic, Spanish Colonial, Latino, and Western American art and artifacts.

Although the permanent galleries are closed during renovation, visitors can visit the museum store, which spotlights unique Native American artists, and participate in craft-making projects such as “Kit and Kaboodle”, peruse an exhibition space with several items from the permanent collection, or explore the stunning gardens.

The Southwest Museum also features the work of a new local artist every month, kicking off with the NELAart Second Saturday Gallery Night.

Going Metro has its rewards. When Metro patrons display their valid Metro pass, Metro Rail ticket or Destination Discounts card at the Museum Store, they will receive a free gift! The Southwest Museum store is open Saturday and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free.  For more information please visit autrynationalcenter.org/southwest.

The Southwest Museum and its store are located at 234 Museum Drive in Mt. Washington and is easily accessible via the Metro Gold Line. Exit at the Southwest Museum stop which is directly across from the museum. For connections visit metro.net or call 1 (800) COMMUTE.
