Go Metro and Walk to Fight Diabetes on Oct. 25 and Receive a Free Pedometer

Go Metro to the American Diabetes Association's Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes on Sunday, Oct. 25.

Create a team of family, friends or co-workers or walk solo to help stop diabetes. So lace up your sneakers and make a difference. You can even bring your dog. The warm up and program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will start at 9 a.m., leaving from Los Angeles City Hall in downtown Los Angeles.

Save the environment and money by going Metro to the event. Just hop on the Metro Red Line and exit at Civic Center Station, which will be near the start of the walk. As an incentive, all participants displaying a valid Metro pass, Metro Rail ticket or Destination Discounts card at morning check-in will receive a complimentary American Diabetes Association pedometer to encourage participation in healthy activities.

For more information, go to diabetes.org/stepout or call 1 (888) DIABETES. For customized route information using Metro, go to the Trip Planner at metro.net or call 1 (800) COMMUTE.
