Ride Metro with the Mayor LOS ANGELES (Feb. 12, 2008) - Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa demonstrated his commitment to public transit by riding Metro to work Tuesday morning. Urging everyone to “Ride Metro with the Mayor,” Mayor Villaraigosa sought to lead by example, taking a Metro Bus and Metro Purple Line train from mid-Wilshire to City Hall in downtown Los Angeles. While in transit, Mayor Villaraigosa greeted bus and rail passengers, asking them about their experience with public transit. The Mayor seeks to encourage Los Angeles commuters to use public transit at least one day per week to help reduce traffic congestion in the region.
