Metro to Pour Concrete at Future Metro Gold Line Pico Aliso Station in Boyle Heights

As part of the continuing construction activity for the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension, Metro construction crews will begin pouring concrete Thursday, March 20, at the Pico Aliso station, on First Street between Anderson and Utah streets in Boyle Heights.

The night work is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Residents and motorists should be aware of traffic detours eastbound on First Street during construction of the Pico Aliso station. Westbound traffic will not be impacted.
Eastbound traffic will go south at Anderson Street to eastbound Third Street, to southbound Gless Street, to eastbound Fourth Street, onto northbound Boyle Avenue, and then back to eastbound First Street.

Access to residences, business and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
The Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension, which will feature eight stations (two underground), will span six miles from Union Station in downtown Los Angeles via the Arts District/Little Tokyo and Boyle Heights to Atlantic/Pomona Boulevards in East Los Angeles. It is scheduled to open in 2009.

Residents who need more information should contact Metro Community Relations at (213) 922-2259 or visit Metro website at www.metro.net/project_programs/eastside/street_closures.htm for up-to-date street closures information.
