Metro Buses to Be Detoured March 15 and 17 Due to Antiwar Demonstration, Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

Metro Bus service will be temporarily detoured Saturday, March 15, and Monday, March 17, due to an anti-war demonstration in the Hollywood area and the annual Saint Patrick’s Day in downtown Los Angeles.

The war protest will force Metro to detour six bus lines from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Hollywood and Sunset boulevards, Vine Street and Highland Avenue. Metro Bus Lines affected will be lines 2 (the only one until 6p.m.), 163, 180, 181, 780 traveling north and southbound. For patrons traveling west and eastbound the bus lines will be 210, 212, 217.

In downtown Los Angeles, for the traditional Saint Patrick’s Day Parade to be held Monday, bus service detours will begin from 11 a.m. to approximately 1:30 p.m. Streets affected will be to the north Cesar Chavez, Arcadia and First streets. To the south Sixth, Fifth and Fourth streets. To the east Alameda, Los Angeles and Spring streets.  To the west Hill, Broadway and Spring streets.

Metro Bus lines affected will be: 2, 4 10, 16, 18, 28, 30, 31, 40, 42, 45, 48, 53, 55, 62, 68, 70, 71, 76, 78, 79, 81, 83, 84, 90, 91, 92, 94, 96, 316, 330, 352, 355, 376, 378, 381, 394, 439, 442, 444, 445, 446, 447, 460, 484, 485, 487, 489. 490, 720, 728, 740, 745, 770.
